One common issue that players encounter is that Skyrim TCL not working problem.

It can be frustrating for a player as it spoils the gaming experience. But fret not! In this guide, we’ll understand the potential causes behind this issue and provide you with effective solutions to get your game back on track.

Why Does Skyrim TCL Stop Working?

Before we reason out why the Skyrim Tcl command is not working, let’s understand what the TCL command is and what is its role in the game.

TCL stands for “Toggle Collision,” and it’s a console command. This command switches on a mode called the “No clip” Mode. It is basically used by players to bypass collision detection in the game. This means you can move through walls, objects and terrain as if they weren’t there. Hence, they work like cheat codes and improve the gaming experience of players.

Talking about Skyrim, many players have reported that the TCL command is not working. The following could be the potential reasons for this issue:

1. Mod Conflicts

Owing to Skyrim’s immense popularity, it has an extensive list of mods from the modding community.

However, if the mods are incompatible, outdated, or corrupted then it can cause errors in the game’s core scripts and assets.

2. Console Input Errors

A simple typo when entering the TCL command can lead to it not working. If you do not enter the command properly and make mistakes then it won’t work.

3. Corrupted Game Files

Corrupted game files can also be the culprit. Skyrim uses game files and scripts to execute various in-game commands and functions.

And, if any of the scripts or game files related to the TCL command are corrupted, it may cause conflicts in the mods.

How To Fix Skyrim TCL Not Working?

Now that we’ve identified potential causes, let’s explore the solutions in detail. To fix the TCL command on Skyrim verify the command, target and untarget, update Skyrim, disable mods, verify file integrity, uninstall and reinstall the game and seek customer support from the team of Skyrim.

1. Verify The Console Command

Ensure that you’re correctly entering the TCL command in the console. It should be precisely as follows: `tcl`. Typos are a common source of errors.

2. Target And Untarget

Since TCL is not a target command but a toggle command, it won’t work if the player has selected a target and forgot to deselect the target you selected. For instance, you selected a target to attack or kill earlier and still the target is selected.

So, to make the command work again you need to clear the target. Click twice to Untarget the target selected. If there are no numbers present on the bottom centre of the screen, it means you have successfully Untargeted.

3. Load The Previous Save And Restart Skyrim

You can also save a previous load and see whether that solves the issue of TCL Command not working.

  • First completely exit the application and return to your desktop or console dashboard.
  • Now restart the game and load the recent save file.

This can sometimes clear up minor glitches or issues that occurred during your previous play session.
