How To Fix BlueStacks Stuck On Additional Updates Required

How To Fix BlueStacks “Additional Updates Required Stuck” Or Not Downloading?

Before getting into the solution, Click on the Update button on the screen.

Wait Until the download and Installation completes.

If the screen stuck on the downloading, follow the below troubleshooting steps.

1. Check Your Internet Connection

You need to Check your Internet connection and speed.

If you find any internet issues, do the following steps to regain your Internet connection.

  • Power Off and Power On your Mobile data or the WiFi
  • If you are using Mobile data, switch to WiFi or Vice versa
  • Unplug and re-plug the internet cable in WiFi router
  • If the internet still has the Issue, restarting the router will fix the Issue.

Also, ensure that you have an active Data plan. If not, recharge it immediately.

If you have a good internet connection, the BlueStacks App still faces the problem; Restart your PC.

2. Restart Your PC

If you have a good Internet connection, close all the applications and restart your PC.

Close the application and Shut down the application properly.

Wait 2 minutes and Power on your application.

Now relaunch your BlueStacks application and Launch your Game.

If the error persists, move to the next step.

3. Update The Application Via Google Play 

If an app is stuck on downloading screen, then try downloading the application from Google Play.

Open your BlueStacks software and Go to the play store.

Please search for your application and download it.

Now launch your game on BlueStacks and check if the issue is gone.

Many users reported that downloading the application from the Play Store works fine.

4. Check Hyper V Status On Your PC

If you already have the required system configurations, enable Virtualization on your PC.

Step 1: Search for “Turn Windows features on or off” and click it on the search list.

Windows feature dialogue box appears.

Step 2:Scroll down and check whether the below options are enabled.

  • Hyper V
  • Virtual Machine Platform
  • Windows Hypervisor Platform
  • Windows Sandbox
  • Windows Subsystem for Linux

If not enabled, Enable it now and restart your PC.

Now try installing your updates in the BlueStacks application.

5. Clearing Temp And App Files

Deleting App data and Temp files will remove any glitches or corrupted histories in the system and help you create fresh new cache data when launching your Instance.

Please follow the instructions to remove your temp files, but don’t worry if some won’t delete. 

  • Type Run in the Windows search bar to open the run command box
  • Type %temp% in the run input field and select all the files in the opened temp folder.
  • Press Shift+Delete to delete all the files from the temp file.
  • Again, Open the run application and input %AppData%.
  • Find and locate the BlueStacks folder and delete it.
  • Repeat the above step, typing %LocalAppData% in the input field in the Run command box.
  • Find the BlueStacks folder and delete it.
  • Go to Desktop and Empty your recycle Bin.
  • Also delete Unused applications or installations if you have any.
  • Reboot your PC and Try launching your game application on Your BlueStacks.

If the error persists, then check the Ram allocation in BlueStacks.

6. Increase RAM And Disk Space

Your BlueStacks Application might lack RAM, and Some other applications might consume more RAM.

First, try installing the Game application by closing all other applications besides BlueStacks.

Launch the game and see if it resolves the downloading Issue. Else increase the RAM and Disc Space.

  • Launch the BlueStacks application and Click on Settings in the sidebar.
  • Click on the Performance tab from the BlueStacks application.
  • Where you will see the Memory Allocation and CPU allocation.
  • Increase 1GB memory and 1 CPU core from the current allocation numbers by selecting the Custom option.
  • Close your BlueStacks application and relaunch it.

Try creating the new Instance and check if the error is gone.

7. Reinstall The BlueStacks Application

If nothing above method works, then there is no issue with the Memory; you need to reinstall the BlueStacks application.

  • Type Add or Remove program in the Windows search bar and click on it from the search list.
  • The Program and application management setting page opens.
  • Where find BlueStacks and right-click on it to uninstall the BlueStacks application.
  • Repeat the 5th method to delete temp and app data files.

After doing this, please reboot your PC, then download and install our latest version here.
