BeReal users receive a notification at a random point in the day where they have two minutes to take a photo of what they’re currently doing.
The motive is to capture the realities of everyday life rather than create the perfect shots.
The app doesn’t provide any followers, so no followers, no likes, no ads, just your friends for real.
On BeReal you can post your instant photo privately or publicly. To post it publicly you need to post under the discovery tab.

What Does Discovery Mean On BeReal?
When you post your BeReal you have to set BeReal posts to My friends only or Discovery which means shared with everyone on BeReal.
When you open the BeReal app you will see your homepage in which two tabs appear: ‘My Friends’ and ‘Discovery’.
Under the discovery tab, you will see the BeReal posted publicly by different people.
You can connect with new people under the discovery tab.
How To Turn Off Discovery On BeReal?
To turn off discovery on BeReal means making your BeReal post private and only sharing with your friends.
To turn off discovery on BeReal follow the steps below:
Step 1: Open Your BeReal App
Firstly, from your mobile phone, click on the BeReal icon to open the app and log in to your account.
Step 2: Take A BeReal
Secondly, you turn on your front and back camera and normally take a snap as you usually do to post it on your BeReal.
Step 3: Click On Add A Caption
Thirdly, before uploading the post, you will see the option to be able to “add a caption” for your post.
You can also tap on the text(if available) beneath the heading “add a caption.”
Step 4: Click On “Options”
Next, you will see the tab of “options” present on the right side of the screen(at the bottom). Simply click on it.
Step 5: Select “My Friends Only” Instead Of Discovery
Lastly, here you can click on my friends or “hide BeReal ” from the shown discovery feed.
What’s The Difference Between Discovery And Friends On BeReal?
You can post your BeReal privately and publicly. The main difference between Discovery and Friends on BeReal is when you post it publicly you choose Discovery feed and when you want to post privately you choose My Friends which means only your friends can see your BeReal post.
Also Under My Friends, you can see posts from your friends only, and under the Discovery tab, you can see other people’s posts and can connect with them.
