This saves you a lot of time and trouble, and you can always head back to the message in your inbox and reply to them.

For your convenience, the messages that you mark as unread appear with a blue dot beside the name of the person, which makes it simpler for you to head back to the messages that you have marked for later replies.

Can You Mark An IMessage As Unread On IPhone?

Yes, iMessage does support the feature to mark a message as unread. Alternatively, you can also turn off your read receipts on your iPhone.

This option is also applicable to certain specific conversations, so you can choose accordingly. 

In order to turn off your read receipts in general, visit the Settings app on your device, and in the Messages menu, toggle off the “Send Read Receipts” option.

For doing the same for specific conversations, tap on the message in your inbox, head over to info, and toggle off the “Send Read Receipts” switch.

How To Unread A Message On IPhone?

Step 1: Long Press On The Message To Read It  

First up, start by long-pressing the arrow at the right of the message to read it.

Step 2: Swipe Left

Once you have read the message, swipe left on it to reveal the red, orange, and grey colored boxes. 

Step 3: Choose The Mark Option

The gray box is for the menu. Tap on the gray box and hit the mark option

Step 4: From The Further Menu, Select Unread

Now, when you choose the mark option, you will find another menu where you can select the unread option. Tap on it, and you are done.

It is as simple as that. Once you select the unread option, you will find that a blue dot has now appeared beside the message. You can always head back to the conversation and reply to the text.

How Do You Flag A Text Message On IPhone?

Unfortunately, there is no such option to flag messages on iPhone like you would normally do in Gmail, but you can alternatively pin messages in your inbox so that they would appear on top of your screen whenever you open your Messages app.

Here’s how you can pin messages on your iPhone:

Step 1: Launch The Messages App 

First up, head to the Messages app on your device 

Step 2: Long Press The Conversation You Would Like To Pin

Scroll through the conversations to choose the one you would like to pin and long-press on it.

Step 3: Hit The Pin Option 

You will now find a dialogue box pop-up. Choose the first option, which is Pin. This conversation will now appear on top of your screen for future reference.

The older versions of the iPhone have a bit different option for marking messages as unread, but it is pretty much the same for all iPhone users.

The option is available in the Messages app itself, and all you have to do is swipe left on the conversation, head to the more menu, and choose the Unread option. 

As for flagging your messages, there is no such option available as of now on the iPhone. The next best alternative is to pin your messages.
