MCX Trading Special Session

During the Special Session, the cancellation of orders takes place. Before the opening of the market, a Special session is held to eliminate unfinished orders. 

Timings:- 8:45 a.m. to 8:59 a.m.

MCX Trading Normal Session

In the Normal Session, commodities trading is done. Agri commodities and non-Agri commodities are traded till 05:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., respectively. From December to February, non-Agri commodities are traded till 11:55 p.m.

Timings: 09:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

MCX Market Timings for Agri Commodities

Agri commodities comprise 12 percent of the total commodity trade. Agri. commodities are agricultural products that are not traded on exchanges. There are six exchanges in India where only major agricultural commodities are traded, including Indian spices, cereals, pulses, oilseeds, rubber, fibers like cotton and jute, dry fruits, etc.

The opening time of the trade: 9:00 a.m.

The closing time of the trade: 5:00 p.m.

MCX Market Timings for Non-Agri commodities

Gold, silver, oil, and gas are all lucrative trades for commodities traders. These futures are mainly traded on large US.based exchanges that specialize in them and they are liquid.

These resources can be traded in the futures market, which is mostly financial traders who want to bet on prices rising or falling so they can make a profit. 

Opening time of the trade: 9:00 a.m. 

The closing time of the trade: 11:30 p.m. (March to November)

The closing time of the trade: 11:55 p.m. (December to February)

MCX Trading Working Days

The market runs only on weekdays; Monday to Friday. The weekends are the holidays for the market. 

MCX remains closed on the gazetted holidays also.
