Setting up your own Enshrouded server can be an exciting journey into managing your little corner of this enthralling game world.
But what happens when you’ve done all the work, and your server still isn’t showing up for others to join?
It can be frustrating, we know. Fear not, fellow gamers and server admins!
In this blog post, we’ll guide you through the troubleshooting process with a comprehensive, step-by-step approach to fixing the issue of an Enshrouded server.
How To Fix Enshrouded Server Not Showing Up
If you’re having trouble with your Enshrouded server not showing up, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
1. Check Server Configuration
Ensure that your server is set up correctly. If you are not using a dedicated server and are hosting a game through the Enshrouded game client, make sure you’ve set up the host settings properly within the game’s menu.
2. Verify Server Is Running
If you are using a dedicated server, check that the server is actually running. You might need to start or restart the server software.
For instance, you might have to open enshrouded_server.exe
and wait for about a minute to let everything load up properly before proceeding.
3. Check Network Settings
Your network settings could be preventing the server from being visible. Ensure that the correct ports are open and forwarded on your router.
This typically involves accessing your router’s settings and configuring port forwarding to allow traffic to the server.
4. Firewall Settings
Check your firewall settings on the server machine. You may need to create an exception for enshrouded_server.exe
or open specific ports that Enshrouded uses to communicate with the clients.
5. Server Visibility Settings
Make sure that your server is set to be visible. There might be a setting in the server configuration file (enshrouded_server.json
) that determines whether the server is public or private.
6. Search For Server Name
If your Enshrouded server isn’t immediately visible in the game’s server list, try using the ‘Search for Server Name’ feature and enter part of your server’s name to filter the list and find your server.
7. Check For Updates
Ensure that both your game client and server are running the latest version. Sometimes, a mismatch in versions can cause visibility issues.
