On the first route, you will go with Edelgard and her supporters in the Adrestian Empire while on the second route you will join Damitiri and his followers in the Fearghus Kingdom.

Apart from this, you will align with Claude and his friends in the Leicester Alliance.

Shez is a human character who stands at 170cm. The player chooses the name and gender of this character. Shez is a headstrong and extremely blunt mercenary character.

He/She remains good to people who are not his rivals and aims to defeat Byleth. 


Arval is a strange human with whom only Shez can interact in his head and dreams. He is a newly introduced character in the “Three Hopes” who saved Shez from the Ashen Demon.

He is like Sothis and does not remember anything from the past. 

Byleth Eisner

Byleth is the main antagonist in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three hopes. This playable character works as a professor at Garreg Mach Monastery.

Players can customize their gender, name, and birthdate. This character is also known as Ashen Demon and can hold the Sword of the Creator while possessing the magical Crest of Flames.  

Dorothea Arnault

Dorothea was once a songstress and has a special affinity for singing. She was first seen in Three Houses as an 18-year-old girl. She belongs to the Adrestian Empire.

She introduces herself to Byleth as a student at the Officers Academy and a former opera company worker. Her magic can heal allies and proves helpful for offensive attacks. 

Jeralt Reus Eisner

Jeralt is a blade breaker and the father of Byleth. He is the leader of a Mercenary company that belongs to the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and a major crest of Seiros. 


Hapi is a member of Ashen Wolves and resides in Garreg Mach Monastery Abyss. She possesses the major Crest of Timotheos and belongs to Adrestia. She can attract monsters by sighing. 

Balthus Von Albrecht

Balthus is a self-proclaimed “King of Grappling” and possesses the major Crest of Chevalier. He is the best friend of Hilda’s elder brother, Holst, and cares for Hilda.

He is big-hearted and has a rowdy personality. He is a member of Ashen Wolves and resides in Abyss. 


Constance is the last known holder of the Crest of Noa after the house Nuvelle was destroyed. She is a member of Ashen Wolves who resides in Abyss and she belongs to the Adrestian Empire. 

Yuri Leclerc

Yuri is the leader of Ashen Wolves and lives in Abyss. He possesses the Crest of Aubin and is a very skilled tactician like Claude.

This character is also referred to as Savage Mockingbird and Underground Lord. 

Shamir Nevrand

Shamir is a distant archer and a bow master working as a knight of Seiros. She teaches Cyril the fundamentals of Archery and pledges her loyalty to Rhea.

She offers seminars on Bows and Lances on weekends at the Officers Academy. 

Marianne Von Edmund

Marianne is a member of the Golden Deer and belongs to the Leicester Alliance. She is a student at the Officers Academy and bears a Secretive Crest. 

Ignatz Victor

Ignatz is a member of the Golden deer who is a student at the Officers Academy. He belongs to Leicester Alliance and is the second son of the merchant family.

Ignatz was first seen in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. He has a fear of lightning, i.e., astrapophobia, and secretly prefers to be an artist. 

Raphael Kirsten

Raphael also belongs to the Golden deer and is a student at the Officers Academy. He comes from a merchant family in Leicester Alliance.

He is a straightforward, optimistic, and kind person who adores meat but feels content with eating vegetables and grains also to satisfy his insatiable appetite. 

Lorenz Hellman Gloucester

Lorenz is the heir to the Country of Gloucester being the eldest son and possesses a minor crest of Gloucester. He belongs to the Leicester Alliance and is a student at the Officers Academy and a Golden deer member.

Lorenz seems to flaunt his nobility status and wishes to marry a noblewoman. He likes anything that benefits nobility such as worthy women, art, red roses, tea, etc. 

Ashe Ubert

Ashe belongs to the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and is the adopted son of Lord Lonato. He is a student at the Officers Academy who joins Blue Lions. Ashe is an optimistic and friendly human who loves cooking, herbology, and swimming. 

Linhardt Von Hevring

Linhardt hails from the Country of Hevring in the Adrestian Empire and possesses a minor Crest of Saint Cethleann. He is the heir of House Hevring being the eldest son.

He is a member of the Black Eagles while being a student at the Officers Academy. Linhardt befriends Caspar from the age of six.

He is intelligent but gets lazy with the work he doesn’t find beneficial to him. He gets shocked upon scoring his first kill as he has hemophobia, i.e., fear of blood. 

Petra Macneary

Petra is the granddaughter of the king of Brigid and is the presumptive heir of the kingdom. She belongs to the Adrestian Empire.

Petra is studious but doesn’t like math. She does not know Fódlan colloquial speech and often interprets wrong meanings. She is fond of many outdoor activities and hates discrimination. She fights with a sword from Edelgard’s side. 


Rhea is the chief leader of the Church of Seiros. She can Byleth improve their Swords, Brawl, Faith, and Reason. She used to order Jeralt when he served as a knight. Rhea holds a major Crest of Seiros.

Edelgard Von Hresvelg

Edelgard is the princess and Adrestian Empire’s future emperor. She wields an axe and holds a minor Crest of Seiros but blames Crests for the irrationality and brutality in the world.

In her youth, she experiences many horrible experiments which fuel her up to end the nobility and equality. She also befriends her step-sister Dimitri.

Manuela Casagranda

Manuela is a professor and doctor who offers classes in Swords and faith at the Officers Academy. She keeps finding dates for herself and regrets not having her dream man at her age.

She was a songstress who loves drinking alcohol. Manuela shows careless behavior but is good with swords and magic. 

Monica Von Ochs

Monica is the eldest daughter of Baron Ochs’s adopted son. She stands at 5’2″ and is extroverted as well as playful.

She gets seized by a wicked woman named Kronya and later liberated by Shez and his students at the beginning of the game.

She has the capability to recollect everything she observes and this ability reflects in her personal life and battle effort.

Caspar Von Bergliez

Caspar is the 2nd son of House Bergliez and step-nephew of Fleche and Randolph. He is a student at the Officers Academy.

Caspar loves getting into fights and is skilled with the axe. He has a strong sense of justice. He befriends Linhardt from a very young age.

Ferdinand Von Aegir

Ferdinand is the heir of House Aegir, being the eldest son. He is very proud of his family’s nobility and status. He is fiercely competitive with Edelgard and hates losing.

He wants to lead the Adrestian Empire toward an enlightened and glorious future. Ferdinand holds a lance in battles. 

Hubert Von Vestra

Hubert belongs to the Adrestian Empire and is a student at the Officers Academy. He has been a faithful supporter of Edelgard since a young age and wishes to see Edelgard fulfill her endeavors. Hubert uses his magic according to Edelgard’s command. 

Now, let’s have a glance at the characters whom the player will encounter on choosing the Azure Gleam route 

Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd

Dimitri is the step-brother to Edelgard and the crown prince of The Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. He comes to the battlefield on his horse and wields a lance.

He bears a minor Crest of Blaiddyd. Edelgard befriends Dimitri during her exile and teaches dance to him. She also receives a dagger from Dimitri as a reminder of love. 


Catherine, an alumnus of the Officers Academy holds a major Crest of Charon . She is a knight of Seiros and can teach Brawling and Swords to Byleth.

She declares that she can identify a person’s Crest by merely glancing at them. Catherine is very loyal to Archbishop. This terrifying swordswoman can wield the legendary weapon “Thunderbrand”. 


Cethleann or Flayn is an unofficial student at the Officers Academy who hails from Nabatean. She is the only member of Seteth’s family who lives in Garreg Mach Monastery.

She likes to socialize and interact with others at the Monastery. 


Seteth is the elder brother of Flayn. He became the chief helper and second-in-command to the Archbishop of the Church of Seiros, Rhea. He values discipline and order. 

Rodrigue Achille Fraldarius

The magnificent warrior, Rodrigue, is a childhood friend of the Late King Lambert. He is the Lord of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and is known as the ” Shield of Faerghus”.

He owns a minor Crest of Fraldarius and has Felix as his only living son and heir. 

Ingrid Brandl Galatea

Ingrid, the only daughter of Count Galatea, comes from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and is a student at the Officers Academy.

She is a childhood friend of Sylvain, Felix as well as Dimitri. Since birth, Ingrid was engaged to Glenn, and inspired by his bravery, she chose to serve as a knight to follow in his footsteps. 

Sylvain Jose Gautier

Coming from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, Sylvain becomes a student at the Officers Academy. He was the second-born son of Margrave Gautier and Miklan’s brother.

He holds a minor Crest of Gautier. Dimitri, Ingrid, and Felix are his childhood friends. Sylvain is fond of women and attempts to woo them with sweet words.  

Annette Fantine Dominic

Annette belongs to the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and has a minor Crest of Dominic. She is a hardworking and cheerful student at the Officers Academy and keeps looking for opportunities to cook. 

Felix Hugo Fraldarius

Felix is the second-born son of Rodrigue, whose older brother Glenn was killed when Felix was 13. He wields a sword and keeps looking for a worthy opponent. He also has the Major Crest of Fraldarius. 

Dedue Molinaro

Dedue was born to a blacksmith from Duscur and has lost his entire family. He is a polite student who rarely speaks.

Dedue was saved by Dimitri and therefore he becomes his retainer to pay for Dimitri’s kindness with a life debt. Dedue is also an experienced cook who teaches cooking to Flayn, making her a qualified chef.

Hilda Valentine Goneril

Hilda is the youngest child and only daughter of House Goneril. She is the sister of Holst. Hilda is lazy and spoiled due to her upbringing in a noble family as a sole daughter.

Despite being lazy, Hilda is a friendly personality who is also skilled with an axe.

This playable character owns a minor Crest of Lamine. Mercedes was born to Baron Martritz as a noble in the Adrestian Empire.

She is a little older than the other students at the Officers Academy. She has a motherly, religious, and kind personality. Annette is a very close friend of hers since their meeting at the School of Sorcery. 

Jeritza Von Hrym

The Death Knight Jeritza is the Armed Combat training incharge at the Officers Academy. He does not like to mingle with people and directly rejects those who have such intentions.
