Microsoft wants you to use its own browser that is Microsoft Edge and that is why every time your Microsoft system takes an update it will shift the Edge in your home screen so that you use it.
How To Stop Microsoft Edge From Appearing In Your Desktop?

The easiest way you can remove this quill is to delete the shortcut from your desktop. However, when your system takes an update next, it will again show up on your desktop. 1. Prevent Microsoft Edge From Creating Shortcuts
Step 1: First press Windows + R keys and open the command prompt.
Step 2: Type Regedit and press Enter.
Step 3: Select Software from the left hand side tab.
Step 4: Navigate to Policies and click on it.
Step 5: Now, click on Microsoft.
Step 6: You can see a Key called Edge Update. If you can’t see it then create it by right clicking in Microsoft and then choose New >> Key and click on it.
Step 7: Give the name EdgeUpdate to the Key and press Enter.
Step 8: Now, right click on the middle of the window that is white to open the menu and choose New from it.
Step 9: Choose Dword 32 bit and name it CreateDesktopShortcutDefault.
Step 10: Double click on the Dword that is created and set the value to 0.
Step 11: Now click OK and exit the window.
And with this, your Microsoft Edge will not be able to create any shortcut on your Desktop.
2. Delete Microsoft Edge Permanently
You can also delete Microsoft Edge completely from your system so that it stops disturbing you by continuously creating software.
You can use an uninstaller programme to completely delete it.
To do this first you will have to download an uninstaller.
Step 1: You can download the Geek Uninstaller and then open it in your system and find the Microsoft Edge from the list of programmes in it.
Step 2: Right click on Microsoft Edge and select the option Force Removal.
Step 3: Click Yes in the dialogue box to continue the process.
Step 4: Wait a few seconds till the removal is done by Geek Uninstaller.
Step 5: Now find Microsoft Edge Update from the list of programmes and delete it the same way as Edge.
With this, you have successfully removed Microsoft Edge from your system and it can no longer create any shortcut in your system.
Note: You have to use a third-party uninstaller to uninstall Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Edger Update because Windows does not allow to remove Microsoft Edge to be removed from your system directly.
But you can easily remove it with the help of a third-party uninstaller.
