When you have faced the error code and are not able to send messages in Discord then there might be various reasons for that.
In this section of our guide, we will be discussing in detail about all those issues for your convenience and understanding.
1. Discord Server Is Down
If the Discord server is down then also you will not be able to send messages to the recipient.
Server down will mean that your Discord will not be able to connect to its servers and will not be able to function properly until the outage is fixed.
In this case, you have no choice but to wait till the technical team fixes the issue that the server is facing.
You can check the server status from here.
2. You Have Disabled Direct Messages In Your Shared Server
If you have unintentionally disabled Direct message in the shared server that you share with the recipient then also you will not be able to send direct messages to the other person.
3. You Don’t Share A Server With The Individual
If you don’t share a server with another person you want to message then you will have to find out their Discord ID and after that you will need to send them a message.
If they don’t block you then you will be able to chat with them.
4. The Person Only Accepts Direct Messages From Friends
If the person that you want to send the message to does not accept direct messages from anyone other than their friends then you will not be able to send them a direct message.
In that case the only way you can send them a message is if they accept you as a friend.
If both of you share the same server then you can ask them to accept you and add as friend and then you will be able to chat with them.
5. The Recipient Had Blocked You
If you have been blocked by the recipient then also you will not be able to send them any direct messages anymore.
In that case, there is nothing that you can do except try to contact them through another platform to solve the misunderstanding.
6. Internet Is Unstable
When your internet is unstable or your DNS settings are not configured properly then also you will face the error where you will not be able to send the messages in Discord.
7. You Are Using A VPN
If you are using VPN then it might be the cause for your Discord malfunctioning on your device.
VPNs are notorious for confusing the servers of online platforms which in turn can make them think that you are scamming them so they will stop your application from sending messages or service requests.
