Fix 1: Update Google Voice Settings

If Google search not working in your PC then make sure you selected correct microphone and enabled “Site can ask to use your microphone“. This will fix your issue and Google voice search work.

Steps to update Google voice settings:

Step 1: Open Google Chrome in Your PC.

Step 2: Tap on 3 dot at top right corner.

Step 3: Now, tap on Settings.

Step 4: Now, Click on Privacy & security from left menu.

Step 5: Now, Tap on Site Settings

Step 6: Scroll down and tap on Microphone Under Permissions.

Step 7: Now , first select your default microphone >> Second select default behaviour i.e, “Site can ask to use your microphone” >> Third delete all previously saved site by clicking on delete icon.

Now, go to Google search and click on microphone. After that google show notification to allow “use your microphone” , tap on allow.

Now Google search will work fine.

Fix 2: Install Voice Search Chrome Extension

Instead of Google voice search, you can also use the Voice Search extension for voice search in Google.

Install the voice search chrome extension for voice search on google.

Steps to Use Voice Search Extension:

Step 1: Go to the Voice Search Extension.

Step 2: Now, tap on Add Extension

Step 3: After extension is added, click on extension and AllowUse your Microphone” from popup.

Step 4: Voice Search extension is installed successfully.

Step 5: Pin the Voice Search Extension and The tap on that, say words which you want to search like “Hey Google“.

You can also use the voice search extension when you are on another site.

If you don’t want to use extension then you can try other solution.

Fix 3: Reset Google Settings

There are chances that your google search is not working because of some issue in google settings.

Then resetting the Goggle settings will fix your google search issue.

Steps to Reset Google Settings:

Step 1: Open Google Chrome in Your PC.

Step 2: Tap on 3 dot at top right corner.

Step 3: Now, tap on Settings.

Step 4: Click on Reset and clean up from left menu.

Step 5: Now, Click on Restore settings to their original defaults.

Step 6: Now, If you click on “Restore Settings” the you will loose all your cookies data like “This will reset your startup page, new tab page, search engine and pinned tabs. It will also disable all extensions and clear temporary data like cookies. Your bookmarks, history and saved passwords will not be cleared

If Its ok to delete all your cookies data then you can proceed otherwise don’t proceed.
