How To Delete Palworld Character From Multiplayer

Palworld is a popular multiplayer game that allows players to create and explore their own worlds with friends.

However, sometimes players may want to delete their character data to start over on a server or for other reasons.

Unfortunately, there is no built-in in-game option to delete a character in Palworld. Instead, you need to manually manipulate files to achieve this.

How To Delete Palworld Character From Multiplayer

To delete a character from Palworld multiplayer, follow these steps:

For the person needing a character change:

1. Go to this folder: C:\Users{Username}\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\SaveGames
2. Inside the folder, depending on if you started a world of your own, you will see 1-2 folders and a file called UserOption.sav.
3. If you did not make a world of your own and you see one folder, delete it.
4. Go to steam -> palworld -> palworld properties (right click it in steam, select properties)
5. Under General, turn off steam cloud

For the host:

1. Go to this folder: C:\Users{Username}\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\SaveGames
2. You will see the same contents as aforementioned. Go into your world folder, named as a random string of numbers and delete the folder named: steam_autocloud.vdf
3. Then proceed into the folder you see here. From here, go to folder labeled: Players
4. You will see at least two files here, one of which looks like this: 00000000000000000000000000000001.sav
5. Do not delete this one, this is you. Delete the other one. Then go back/up one folder, then enter the folder labeled: backup then enter world
6. From here, while unfortunately tedious, you’ll have to go into each folder and check for and delete files that share the file name with the one you deleted before. After this, launch the game and have them join your world. They should be prompted with the new player/name.
7. After all is said and done, you may go back into steam and turn steam cloud back on.

Steam will ask which files you wish to keep, since they will clash with the files that steam had in the cloud. Click Local files as those are the ones you just made.

By following these steps, you can successfully delete a character from Palworld multiplayer. Keep in mind that this process requires manual file manipulation and may not be as straightforward as an in-game option.
