Are you having trouble with your KiK notification?
You may be getting the notification but you are not receiving the messages in your KiK Messenger.
If that is the case then no need to worry because this is happening with many other users of KiK.
In this article, you will learn why you are getting the notification in your KiK app but not the messages in your KiK App and what you can do to solve it.
Why There Is Kik Notification But No Message
There are many reasons why your KiK Messenger is only showing you the notification and not messages.
In this section, we have discussed some of the issues for your convenience.
1. Kik Is Having Some Technical Issues
KiK could have some technical issues, bugs or glitches inside its system due to which you might be having the error where you are getting the KiK notification but the messages are not showing up.
2. Kik Has Collected Too Many Cache
Cache files store the temporary files of an app however if they collect too many files or somehow collect junk or corrupted files then the app will stop working properly.
3. The Kik Server Is Down
If the KiK server is down then also you will have issues as the app will be unable to fetch the messages and only the notifications will show up.
There can be maintenance going on by the KiK team.
4. Kik Is Not Updated To The Latest Version
Similar to other software KiK also updates regularly to minimize its bug and to keep its system updated.
Due to this if you are using an older version of KiK then your Kik will have issues connecting to its system properly.
5. Poor Internet Connection
If the internet connection is poor then also KiK will have problems working properly on your device.
Similar to other online apps KiK also requires a fast and stable internet connection to function properly.
How To Fix KiK Notification But No Message
Now that you have been able to understand some of the reason that was causing you only to receive the notification in your KiK application and not the messages, it is time for us to check the solutions that will solve the issue.
1. Check The Internet Connection
The first thing that you need to check is the internet connection.
KiK requires a fast and stable internet connection to work properly You can check the connection by switching it between different connections, for example, the wifi and the cellular data connections.
In case of only notifications showing up and not the messages, it could also be due to slow internet.
You can also check your internet speed by doing a ‘speed test’ on Google.
If you find that there is some kind of issue with your internet connection then we advise you to contact your local service provider to get it fixed.
2. Check KiK Server Status
The next solution that you should try is to check the KiK server status.
Make sure that it is not down or going through maintenance.
In the above picture, blue bars mean that the server is running whereas no bar means that the server is down for that time.
If you see the notifications but no KiK messages then the KiK server could be facing a server outage.
If it is facing a server outage then you can not do anything else except wait till the KiK technical team fixes it.
3. Check For Kik Upgrade
Make sure to check for any upgrades to your KiK app.
As KiK upgrades its app regularly, it could be that you have somehow missed an upgrade.
In that case, you should check the PlayStore or App Store to make sure that your KiK is upgraded to its latest version.
4. Restart Your Device
The next solution that you can try is to restart your device.
As different devices have different restart processes, you should find the power button of your device and then hold it for a few seconds to get to the restart option and then restart the phone.
After you restart it, open your KiK app again and check whether now you are receiving the messages along with the notifications.
If the issue was happening due to a bug in your device’s system then doing this would solve that.
5. Clear The Cache Of Kik
Another solution that you can try is to clear your KiK Cache on your device.
Cache files can store junk and corrupted files at times which can reduce the app’s functionality which in turn would mean that you might get the notification from KiK but not the messages.
To clear the Cache, please follow the steps given below.
For Android
- Go to Settings on your device.
- Open Apps.
